Dennielle Howes

A 12-year veteran high school volleyball coach, Second Lieutenant Dennielle J. Howes also founded a youth program to get young girls involved in the sport earlier—so they could be even more competitive. In 2017, she received the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) “Thirty under 30” Award for up and coming high school coaches. And it was the annual AVCA convention where she learned about the Coaches Workshop that the United States Marine Corps host, and found a sense of belonging. In January 2021, Howes attended Officer Candidate School and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps in March 2021.
